Concrete on the Way...

Which is a good thing, as rain is due for Tuesday and Wednesday. The total should be around 2.5 yards, which isn't that much in the big scheme of things. But it would be around a hundred 80 pound bags, which is way too much to mix by hand alone.

100 bags would REALY stink!! Good choice! Good luck beating the rain!

I think it's about what we mixed for the slabs for the houses in Mexico. Those were 11'x22'x4" which is 2.7 yards, and we mixed from cement + gravel, often with no running water. But we had 2 dozen young, energetic kids to do most of the work :-)

It's funny because when we poured the concrete floor in my garage, we ordered 8 pallets of 80 lb. QuikCrete because every contractor wanted to rip us off to take on the job. 8 pallets of Quikcrete, 14 tons of rock and 1 concrete mixer from Lowes.

Good Luck with your job, it's backbreaking; but worth it.

If it'd been at driveway level, I might have done bags and a mixer. But it was about 15' down and about 40' from the street to the furthest point. Past experience tells me that those bags get heavier each one you carry down the stairs :-)

YIKES! 15 bags of 80 were more than enough for me when we filled in under the carport columns and along the edge of the driveway.

You go, dude!
